AS Losing Nearly All of Their Fox Shows...and Getting Them Back

Since AS appears to be using newer masters for Futurama, have Professor Farnsworth's "Sweet Zombie Jesus" lines been restored? They used to be edited years ago.

Whenever anime adaptations of her manga have been released by other companies, they've usually been given limited releases (except Urusei Yatsura aka "Lum the Invader Girl"). Back in the '90s, Viz was able to get Ranma advertised in practically every comic shop that sold anime and manga but...

Sounds like they don't know how to market it. Viz has been making money off Takahashi titles for decades.

Probably because Viz didn't license it. I suspect Inuyasha got an extra push from Viz, because they are co-owned by the publishing company that handles Takahashi's manga in Japan. They often go all out compared to the few times other companies have gotten her anime in the US, because they...

    C&C - Made in Abyss - "The Challengers" - *season finale* [4/9]

'Cause it makes it look like Americans hate their childhood.

    C&C - Made in Abyss - "The Challengers" - *season finale* [4/9]

What a dark series (though not the darkest anime I've seen). It reminded me a little of Pan's Labyrinth or something else Guillermo del Toro directed. The subject of losing humanity is also a theme I've encountered before in countless Japanese media outside of their animation like theater plays...

    C&C - Made in Abyss - "Nanachi" [3/26]

I find the mysterious beings Riko and Reg encounter along the way more interesting than the main protagonists. This show kind of drags when it's just the two of them.

That wouldn't necessarily bar it from being classified as anime. The Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland movie is now considered an anime by many people and its original screenplay was written by Chris Columbus (director of Home Alone).

C&C - Made in Abyss - "Poison and the Curse" [3/19]

Yes. I meant the voice Brittney Karbowski uses for Nanachi sounds like the character suffers from the same nasal congestion as Wendee Lee's Konata.

That scene with Riko was... hard to watch. Finally, the bunny girl in the ED shows up and sounds similar to Konata from the Lucky Star dub.

There's also Lupin III: The First, which convinced me CGI anime could work with the right team.

I'm still waiting for that Cowgirl Ed series where Ed is the main character.

At first I thought this was a premature April Fools joke. Ironic considering they were the same studio that animated Dragon Half, a gonzo D&D anime from 1993. Despite being only 2 episodes, I felt it had a lot more energy than the last two FLCL seasons combined. I recall Gainax sold off a fair...

Not on this side of the Pacific, because it's in a complicated rights mess over in Japan due to its music tracks.

I would suggest Toonami dig into old IPs they already own and try rebooting them as anime for the block. Like what Adult Swim used to do with obscure Hanna-Barbara properties when they first started.
