FYI to all, I just picked up the premiere set from Best Buy for $79.99. Ordered it online for pickup at my local BB outlet which I will do after work today :) .
Also FYI, they list the non-premiere set for pre-order for $89.99.
I was actually planning on getting the lesser set as I don't...
Thanks for posting this...I will definitely be attending in my area! The date is actually a holiday for me at work (Veteran's Day) so both me and my son are off of work and school, respectively so we'll both be going :) .
FYI, I saw the film around 7-8 times at the theater during its original...
Just pre-ordered MotP from Amazon!
Worth every penny and then some to me...can't wait to see it again in Blu-Ray.
Sad that there looks to be no extras or a commentary, but has anyone heard anything about the sound?
Still hoping for an upgrade to 5.1 surround :), but I know it's not very...
I don't know how he did it...I think it was available On Demand through our DirectTV, but he found and we watched another new episode on Sunday that involved Space Cabbie and Kanjar Ro.
I forget the title, but it was there for the watching in the DirectTV On Demand menu.
FYI... :)

Wow...this just made my day and then some!
I will buy this the second it is released...more than happy to "triple dip" on this one...I bought the VHS tape and the original DVD both on the very day that each was released. Also saw the movie at least 5 or 6 times when it did its all-too-brief and...

I received my copy on Tuesday. I was able to watch a bit, too :) .
Picture quality is of course very nice and clear as would be expected on a Blu-Ray.
My big disappointment (which I pretty much expected) was that the sound was not upgraded to a surround, 5.1 mix (as was done with JL Seasons 1...
Mr. Hastings was another case of perfect casting for the part he played on BTAS. The speech as he delivered it to Batman in "I Am the Night" after he first wakes up from his near-fatal injury saying that he always wanted to be a hero was a particular shining moment for the entire series...
Yes, I miss the DCAU, too. The DC animated programs since have ranged from good to not-so-good certainly, but ultimately the Timm/Dini universe (and all of the other contributors) continues to be the most treasured to myself. I can watch and rewatch those shows and never get bored. I cannot...
Also just heard this news. What to add? Like so many of us, it was his voice acting as the uber-tragic Mr. Freeze that will forever be the definitive version of the character that completely wiped away the "campiness" that had dominated the character previously. That voice and his lines from...
Actually, the hand was first shown in the Silver Age Green Lantern comic book series (issue #40). I have the issue (also the entire series...collected it when I was a teen):
Beginning of time - DCAU Wiki: your fan made guide to the DC Animated Universe
Great ending. Timm, Volpe and Co...
Wow...20 years! What to post that hasn't already been said?
I remember the premiere week well...I was visiting relatives and had to set my mom's VCR to record the premiere episodes. I had read about the series in the local paper I think it was which is the only reason I knew to do so. I...
I don't post often, but do lurk often.
But I had to post for my choice of "Legends" as this is my favorite of the early Justice League episodes by far. Lots of other good episodes in there to be sure, but this one is special to me...
A great story, the homage to the Justice Society and the...
JLU on Blu-Ray?
I was re-watching some JL, Season 2 on my Blu-ray over the weekend (as my 2 and half year old was also asking to watch it...he loves the superhero stuff already...just have to be a little careful that he understands it's ultimately make believe :) ) which got me to wondering...
My DVR didn't adjust for the time change so I missed this week's episode :( .
As far as I can tell, CN doesn't repeat it over the next week...if I'm wrong, please let me know as I'd like to see it of course.
Or does a streaming option exist on CN's website perhaps?
Thanks,
Jonathan
Had to get this on the Blu-Ray :) !
Only had a chance to watch a little last night, but the picture quality, as one might expect from Blu-Ray, is excellent and clearly (no pun intended :D) better than the standard DVD release. Super-rich colors, crisp detail...right away I saw things in the...
Yea! Season 2 of JL on Blu!
I had given up, but maybe some decent sales of ROTJ (I got mine) convinced them to finally release S2.
Can't wait to see that Superman/Darkseid dust-up from "Twilight" on Blu...as Timm says on the commentary...he's loves story boarding 2 advisories that simply hate...
Picked this one up and yes, it's a double-dip for me. They even included a regular DVD in this release, too. The picture is pretty stunning...I watched part of it last night, and I could see a lot of things I had missed before :D .
I'll donate my original to someone or maybe the...
R.I.P. Mr. McDuffie. Taken from us all much, much too soon.
Your terrific body of work will be remembered by so many with a well-deserved reverence.
My condolences to his family and friends.
Jon
To say that there are some absolutely classic/amazing episodes in this list is a huge understatement.
R.I.P. Mr. Kirkland...your contributions will be remembered with reverence by myself and many, many others.
My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Jon
