ABC was really hoping for “The Little Clowns of Happytown” to be a success in 1987. Unsurprisingly, it flopped right away, and now barely anyone knows it existed.
There’s a clip he keeps using of a lady saying “Uh-oh!” followed by giggling. Well, I’m watching I Love Lucy right now and I just heard Ethel say this. The episode is “Ricky’s Contract” from Season 4.
I think the lady saying “You scared me!” might be from I Love Lucy as well.
This is only the point where Conan switched to digital full-time. Episode 96 was the first to be colored digitally. Episodes 219 & 263 were, too, before the full switch happened in 284.
Pokemon actually started experimenting even earlier than that. The first digitally animated footage I know of...
I think it had the full block. It was back in August 2019 when I saw it, so my memory is a little fuzzy.
Those were two separate pranks. The mustaches were in 2004, and the Perfect Hair marathon was 2007.
Speaking of old Stan Freberg bits, that clip Sven uses of people cheering "Bravo, bravo! Was that moving, was that not a great bit?" comes from his United States of America album (narrated by Paul Frees, and featuring usual Freberg cronies such as Peter Leeds and June Foray). I also heard...
I found the Poop or Scoop music! It's called "Schatzwalzer", and it was composed by Jan Rap.
Other discoveries:
The disco music heard during a Revolting Slob segment where he plans to go to the beach is "Funky Beat" by Jean-Pierre Fabien.
The Radio Scramble theme is "Sweet Little Baby" by...
The “POOEY” sound effect, as Sven explained on his show back in the 90s (the clip where he does this is unfortunately now private), comes from an old comedian named Eddie Lawrence, aka “The Old Philosopher”. I’ve listened to a few of Lawrence’s records as this character (and believe me, they...
I’ve been searching all over for that on the APM site, under every possible category, but no luck.
However, I did find a KPM album called “History of Rock and Roll 1955-1965” that seems to have most of the Radio Scramble songs on it. These include...
“Let Me Baby”: used for “kalbstable” and...
The intro music for Lens McCracken is “Thunderbird” by Johnny Pearson.
Ear We Are’s intro is “Nautical Theme” by Clive Richardson, which is actually on the same album as the Haunted House Party track mentioned above.
The music for Think Tank is “Ghost City” by Barry Morgan.
Another track I...
Poor Scrappy. In my opinion, he's the most misunderstood cartoon character ever. Sure, he gets on my nerves sometimes, but those moments are few. As for the question posed by the title of this thread, I think Scrappy-phobia started in the '90s. Eric B's "The Facts on Scrappy" article covers this...

I found this old archived link that describes the dubbed versions as they aired
Oh god.... I remember this crap. I was 5 when it came on, and it was the first time my babysitter allowed me and my older brother to watch Cartoon Network. Does anyone else remember the "Mommy Bar" that scrolled across the bottom of the screen with messages targeted towards moms? Apparently, CN...
I thought the Mighty B! was a great show, but due to the network shuffling, I still haven't seen most of Season 2. The only other show from this era I can honestly say I liked was El Tigré.
Nickelodeon commercials are pure cringe. They're always shoehorning in some stupid meme, like this one commercial where they photoshopped that image of Patrick looking shocked in various situations. Probably the worst in this category would be "SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song: Literal...
This thread really needed to be bumped. Here's a few I came up with.....
Star Wars: The Adventures Continue (ABC, 2013)
After Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, they got a hold of Genndy Tartakovsky to create this 2D animated series, much like the one he produced for Cartoon Network...
I thought it was gonna suck! Boy, was I wrong. It was excellent! It's the best animated film I've ever seen! My only complaint is that a lot of the jokes at Charlie Brown's expanse I could see coming from a mile away. Other than that, it was a pleasant surprise. On a more serious note, I went to...
After a long thought processing session, I have pinpointed the exact moment where Cartoon Network died. Does anybody else remember "Tickle U"? I was only five when that happened, but even I thought that block was a huge mistake. That is something I am never going to forgive Cartoon Network for...
I have a mixed history with CN. I started watching in late 2004-early 2005, which was around the time the channel started to die. Summer 2005 on CN is an experience I'll never forget. But something happened in 2006 that made me stop watching the channel. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but I...
You aren't missing that much considering there's barely any classics over here in America. Those that remain are usually aired in graveyard slots, such as The Flintstones, which airs at 1 A.M.
I guess you've never heard of weaboos, then?
Anyway, my predictions:
1. Cartoon Network's schedule entirely consists of Adult Swim and Teen Titans GO!
2. Boomerang starts showing crappy teen dramas. Oh wait that actually happened in other countries.
4. Christina Miller retools Adventure Time and...
Why did Alaskey suddenly stop voicing the characters? I heard his voice on some of The Hub's Tiny Toons commercials a couple years back, but other than that, I haven't heard much from him since the end of Loonatics Unleashed.
Whoa. I will give it the benefit of a doubt that it looks far better than I was expecting. It still looks too Korean and stiff, but it's nice to see that the animators are trying to make it look like one of the classic cartoons.
Whoa! I had no idea that this show started already! I guess it's because I hardly watch Cartoon Network anymore due to a lack of interest. I guess I'd better check this show out...
