AMC Networks has announced it has plans to purchase Discovery Family from Discovery and Hasbro before WarnerMedia and Discovery merger completes. As the purchase completes, AMC will make it's plans of changing the channel instead of ceasing operations. AMC will rename the channel to AMC Family and separate the channel to provide 2 new blocks, JimJam and Minimax.

JimJam will be available weekdays from 7am to 1pm EDT, while Minimax will be on Weekends from 6am to 1pm EDT. AMC Family will also have plans to launch a Minimax afternoon block on Weekdays. And for Primetime programming, AMC will offer programming targeted for ages 14-18 and Late-night programming will feature shows from 60s-90s as a block entitled "AMC Retro"
