This is the thread for this week's Yashahime.

If you came here to discuss this week's
Food Wars, THIS IS NOT THAT THREAD.

DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD if you want to talk about
Food Wars.

THIS IS A
YASHAHIME THREAD.

I'm saying that in case you read the episode title and got confused.

Previously on Yashahime: Why being a half-demon kinda sucks.

And there's the last of the Four Perils (or two, as the case may be).

"That monk tasted divine."

Last time: ...sorry, I'm above jokes about certain things that happen once a month.

Frosted Monk-y Charms - they're magically religious!

Again with the pearls.

I mean, it's not like man-eating demons are a rarity here.

Ooh, we gonna see Miroku?

Hey, as long as he's not cheating on Sango.

"A man-eating demon, huh?"
Watch out, boy, he'll chew you up.

Miroku? Keep your distance, you two.

Well, hopefully since he's already had someone bear his children...

Sango!

Wow. Miroku looks...different.

And there's one of his twin daughters.

"There's no such thing as useless training......but yes."

So who did they replace the late Kirby Morrow with?

And before you ask, they're too young to bear your children.

Thankfully "training" isn't just a code word for...something else.

I was wondering where Moroha was. Aren't you ladies supposed to be a power trio?

Reminds me of an episode of the old series when Kagura went around killing monks.

And Towa contributes to the obesity epidemic thousands of years early.

Odd. Most women don't even WANT to remember Miroku.

How does he talk without moving his mouth? What is he, a Power Rangers monster?

Yes, just like the wind tunnel. If only they had Naraku's poisonous bees.

I know. Feed him an evangelist. He'll die from food poisoning.

He looks like a bad guy from a 90s environmental cartoon.

Just call it "wasabi in liquid form."

This would be the textbook definition of an ironic death for Miroku.

Setsuna has a poison hand? Since when?

Well, they have to stretch this season out for 26 episodes, so I guess he's getting away.

Sango rockin' the mom/housewife look.

So he blows AND sucks.

"I can't eat a stone statue!"
But it's chock full of minerals!

When could Setsuna do THAT?!

Must have tried to eat something that disagreed with him.

"I didn't get to do anything. Again."

Sango hasn't aged a day.

I've been watching the show on Hulu instead of Toonami, but the poison hand is an ability Setsuna could've only inherited from one person--Sesshomaru. It was established early on that Inuyasha's older half-brother is the father of the twins and he has the poison claws.

I thought that this episode was pretty good. The opening was pretty unsettling. They've had demons kill random characters before, but being eaten alive while you tell your followers to save themselves was just incredibly brutal. It was interesting to see Miroku again. His new voice seemed pretty good. At least now that he's married and had children he doesn't seem to be the gross pervert like he was before. The conflict with Hisui was understandable, even if it was something that could have been resolved with a conversation. I also thought that training for over two years would have been more of an issue for Sango, especially when we didn't see her until the end of the episode, but that wasn't the case.

I honestly didn't mind that Moroha wasn't included. Yeah, they are making it a bit of a habit to keep Moroha out of the action, whether it's because the main conflict is more fitting for just Towa and Setsuna or because it's part of her running gag of never getting paid. However, I thought that there was more to it her than just keeping her out of the action. Moroha is Inuyasha and Kagome's daughter and I assume that Miroku would have been familiar with her or at least knew of her. Since they haven't really explained what happened to them yet, I guess that they didn't want Moroha to meet with someone who could potentially give her more clues about her parents.

The fight was pretty good. Miroku jumping in to save his son was nice and made their resolution at the end feel pretty earned. Setsuna's poison blood probably should have been hinted at sooner, but at the same time, it was sealed away, so I don't know if that could have been possible. She also looked a lot like her father when the seal was undone, especially with those markings. Overall, it was a pretty good episode.
