Sadly the only "demon slayer" we're likely to see on Toonami for a while.

Previously on Yashahime: Who says the apple doesn't fall far from the tree?

A feudal fairy tale? I mean...it's not really a fairy tale from your POV.

Last time: The daughter of my enemy is my friend.

So from jewels to pearls to strings.

When you haven't had a nap for years, of course you'll be out like a light.

Yeah, okay, you kidnapped me in my sleep, but sure, I'll listen.

Well Setsuna, now that you can sleep again, you'll soon discover the joys of somehow not feeling rested.

"Yeah, can we just get back to the fact that you apparently kidnapped me?"

"The life of a princess is actually very lonely and miserable."
What's that? Sorry, couldn't you hear over the cries of all the impoverished children starving to death.

Yeah, I knew those were crocodile tears.

Oh hai Hisui.

Well, this is awkward.

And Disney makes movies from this?

I'm gonna have to look this up. Have we seen her before?
...ahh. Episode 19 from last season.

So everybody's faking today.

Etiquette? Something tells me that it's a lost cause for this girl.

Sorry Hisui, no more family businesses for you to take over.

Yo ho, yo ho, a demon slayer's life for me.

This is going to end in a wedding, isn't it?

A monk who gropes other women's butts and asks them to bear his children upon meeting them is no role model, kid.

"Where's Moroha when you need her?"
Yeah, is she even in this episode?
...oh, okay, she is.

From one captive state to another.

Octopi can regrow their arms. Why are you surprised?

It's like it caught a Bleach filler character.

See, this is what happens to Japanese princesses who go out unprotected. They get snatched up by a tentacle monster.

She's like Ariel and Jasmine if they were a lot more annoying.

"I want to ride you-I mean, ride with you!"

Older sisters, am I right fellas?

MOST. ANNOYING. HOSTAGE. EVER.

And you wanted to leave Setsuna behind.

Let's end this now before Setsuna gets betrothed to somebody.

"I told you to stay still. You don't want to fall again."
No big loss on our account.

You snuck out and told him, didn't you? Wouldn't blame you if you did.

Just a quick coda to remind you there's still an overarching story here.

Work that violin, Sets.

Next week, Towa meets a couple of stoners.

Okay, I understaand that this show might need to do a filler episode once in a while. But why did that episode have to focus on the annoying comic relief squad?

It's a Takahashi staple from her shows to have at least one episode focus on the comic relief characters.

Hisui the Demon Slayer: I like this one. The episode starts off with Towa and then Setsuna getting kidnapped, but we get a great episode about the youngest of Miroku/Sango's children and he is a very likable character. Unlike his sisters, who surprisingly end up being even less likable than Princess Aiya in this episode. At least I can see that Princess Aiya just doesn't want to be living a boring Princess life (though she needs to realize that she can't have the perks of being a spoiled princess and the freedom to do everything she wants since demons wouldn't care about her being a princess). But at least Princess Aiya got what she deserves in the end while Hisui's sisters got away with their manipulation. I did like how Princess Aiya fell in love with Hisui after being saved. It was actually cute, and who knows, he might by the person to calm her wild-streak. I can see her wanting her father to hire him for those Etiquette classes and might actually listen to him.
Setsuna is actually showing emotions now that the dream butterfly is gone and she's gotten some sleep. She actually fell for Princess Aiya's manipulation, something that wouldn't have happened a few episodes ago. She looked pretty good in the Kimono though. Moroha got a cameo and it's great to see that she's almost out of debt. Of course with her luck, the demons are choosing to flee from her.

Yeah, I knew those were crocodile tears.
Towa would've fell for it even harder. She'd probably be hugging the Princess to show sympathy for her.

Etiquette? Something tells me that it's a lost cause for this girl.
Eh, I bet she'd take it more seriously now if Hisui was doing the lessons.

Just a quick coda to remind you there's still an overarching story here.
Well Setsuna needed her rest.

Next week, Towa meets a couple of stoners.
Boooo!

Well, that was a waste of time. And Moroha never got to do anything.
We got some good news that she's almost out of her debt though.

But why did that episode have to focus on the annoying comic relief squad?
Who were the comic relief squad?
