He played in bands with Willie Nelson and was an original (and mischievous) Mouseketeer before being fired from the show.

He was the son of Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney (probably obvious, but still worth noting). Having started as a Mouseketeer (as did his brother Tim Rooney), he later starred in films such as Hot Rods to Hell and Honeysuckle Rose. He often played with Willie Nelson (who also appeared in Honeysuckle Rose).
