I'm blue. A nostalgic CN fan.
Welcome to the thread where you can discuss why do you miss your favorite, retired ident sets, even closed channels too.
Here is my long list.
RTL Klub: either 2005-2008 or 2008-2017. For the former, that was the first ident set I saw from that channel. The eye is cute. And for the latter, the letters flying or falling were so realistic in the photos that they were even shown during the 2008 national horse race just before the idents' debut.
TV2 (HUN): either 2007-2008 or January-August 2011. For the former, that was the best set because of the age ratings (the symbols were made in real life in addition to people who were around that age) and the idents which had billboards. And for the latter, the 2 as a core symbol had a transparent effect behind slow timelapses.
MTVA channels: I will miss the landart idents (since 2012) soon as they were the only good idents from that era. For M1-M2, I miss 2004-2006 the most because that one had a minimalist animation (the middle stripe formed from moving rectangles), and for Duna TV, I miss 2004-2005 because it had waves, similar to the 2009-2012 set.
ATV (HUN): the 1st half of 2006 set was when I saw the channel for the 1st time. Sadly, this set doesn't have any videos, only three screenshots.
AXN: 2006-2011 because of the colors and the animations, and even the ad-break idents featuring various household products creating the logo.
BBC Prime: 2000-2006 as that was the set I grew up as a 4-year-old kid. Those looked like a kids channel's idents.
Cartoon Network: either City or Arrow, as these were the most nostalgic ident sets I grew up as a 6-9 year old kid.
Cool: 2010-2014. It had a realistic city with red balls bouncing around them, and even the logo was formed with two balls, with one of them located at a skyscraper as if that was the HQ of the channel.
Discovery Channel: either 2001-2004 or 2006-2009. For the former, it had calming sound effects set under water or gas and even the logo was created from them. For the latter, this was the set I saw when I watched How It's Made, despite its minimalism with just the globe or the full logo on a blue, white or black background, along with the blue text.
Echo TV: 2017-2019. Although this had cold colors (white and blue), the ECHO logo had a lot of parts which were then merge into one.
HBO: 2005-2010. This set had a very great feel of a movie channel, as glass rectangles were joined like filmstrips with some of them having the HBO logo projected inside.
Investigation Discovery: 2017-2020. This one had a better feel than the current one, as it had crime scenes with the glass ID logo appearing in the end and the mysterious music.
Jetix: 2005-2007. J is a cute character who morphs into different creatures and things, and travelling around a blue city, finishing with the logo.
