For the previous edition of this announcement, check this out for a bit of a flashback:

Welcome to the new Warner Bros. Club!

That thread was, until today, posted here at the top of this forum since August 2003 - the 5th anniversary of Toonzone, by the way.

A little history: The Warner Bros. Club, as detailed in the Toonzone 20th Anniversary commemorative thread, was originally an online group that had existed in various forms throughout the 90's. It eventually went to the wayside as Toonzone started to take off (starting in 1998), but it was brought back as a forum here on Toonzone in 2003 (as explained in that first link above).

Just one problem: By 2003, it was apparent that the Warner Bros. "Silver Age" was over. The "Tiny Toons/Animaniacs/Pinky and the Brain" shows were over, and "Kids WB" was entering into the years of it's decline, eventually being cancelled by 2008. And so more and more, the Warner Bros. Club forum became a Shrine dedicated to the Warner Bros. of the 90's.

And yes, there was a period of stagnation in the early to mid 2000's, but over the last few years, it's become more and more apparent that Warner Bros. Animation isn't dead. From Duck Dodgers (2003), to hit animated movies like "The Lego Movie", etc, from Thundercats (2011) to the upcoming "Thundercats Roar!", there's been a lot going on!

And somewhere along the way...Hanna-Barbera became affiliated more with Warner Bros. Animation, moreso (arguably) than with Cartoon Network. Boomerang became more affiliated with Warner Bros. Animation. Warner Bros. became the company behind the various Scooby Doo series that have aired over the last several years (starting with "What's New, Scooby Doo?" in 2002). Warner Bros. launched the Boomerang streaming app, and is now scheduled to release new Scooby Doo and Flintstones shows directly to the app.

In retrospect, a "Warner Bros. Club" shouldn't end with the cancellation of "Animaniacs/Pinky and the Brain/The Big Cartoonie Show" back in 2000. Yes, we're certainly excited that Animaniacs is coming back (and this is the forum for discussing that upcoming show) but there's other things going on with Warner Bros. Animation. The "Silver Age" of the 90's may be over, but perhaps we're on the threshold of a new age (a "Warner Bros. Renaissance", perhaps?). This it the forum for discussing it all.

Welcome back, Warner Bros. Animation fans of old. Welcome to Hanna-Barbera fans seeking new cartoons featuring the classic Hanna-Barbera roster of characters.

Welcome to the Warner Bros. Club/Boomerang Forum!

If it's a 3rd party show (like "Grizzy and the Lemmings", which aired on Boomerang), it should be discussed on the General Animation forum, going forward.

Originally, yes, Boomerang was a spinoff of Cartoon Network - originally intended to air all of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons (from the 50's to the 90's).

But Boomerang has changed following the 2015 rebrand, and even if they do air "Cartoon Cartoon" reruns (usually in the overnight hours) their game plan now includes premiering new Warner Bros. Animation cartoons (if not on the cable channel, then on the Boomerang App). And so that's what this forum is now dedicated to (alongside the standard "Animaniacs" discussion).
