Westworld "The Auguries"
Teddy at the end! Nice!
This show remains television's current most confounding puzzle. I don't think it will ever make the cultural impact of either Twin Peaks or Lost, but it's even more confusing to me than both.
Couple of ideas about Christina. 1. She is related to the woman who was the model for Dolores. 2. She is another Host with Dolores' body type but new memories. 3. The New York we see her in is actually a simulation and she is Dolores' downloaded consciousness. I like that last theory best because it explains how Teddy can be there. But none of these three theories have been disproven yet, simply because we have yet to see Christina interact with the rest of the other characters (besides Teddy at the end). If and when we do might give us some clarification about her new reality.
The Man In Black continues to be absolutely loathsome. I can't stand that guy.
Mauve is still kick-butt, and I'm glad to see Caleb is still on the show too. Both Tessa Thompson and Jeffrey Wright are still in the cast list as well, but neither appeared in the episode.
What is up with the flies? I don't like them and I think they are gross. But the recap suggests this plotline has been set up seasons ahead of time.
Christina's date describing background characters as canon fodder shows why the people of the future absolutely suck.
I still have a lot of questions about this show, but the first episode back was still pretty enjoyable. ****.
