  • "WBD just hates animation! They don't care about it!"

    Counterpoint: Me TV Toons.
It bugs me how when you say Looney Tunes, most people jump to the 50's Chuck Jones shorts as the default. I'm not trying to throw shade at Jones; he was great and the 50s LTs were great, but the 40's shorts shouldn't be overlooked; they're that much better IMO.

I am going to commit heresy and say I dont have a special love for Jones, I like some of his shorts a lot but there is something about his character designs that is off putting to me. ESPECIALLY his Tom and Jerry.

Much of Jones' LTs are good (though it bugs me how many people view his and Freleng's 50s take on Daffy as the definitive version) but no, his T&Js weren't very good. His Tom was Wile E. Coyote in a cat suit and he never felt he got a proper handle on Jerry's character.
I want to be hyped for MeTV Toons, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting it right away, then I remember all the projects and talent WBD has screwed over and that takes the air out of the hype train.

Silver, don't get so bend out of shape. It's the not the end of the world. Plus, it doesn't have anything to do with new projects. Stop doomposting.

There is a difference Warner-Discovery has been making deals with others for awhile, like Tubi getting Hanna-Barbera stuff, Weigel is paying them for archive stuff, so they'll be fine.

@LinusFan303 Yeah, I really want them to do the same with CN Classics library. At least put them somewhere instead of tossing them aside or being part of Adult Swim.
I still feel The Casagrandes was a slipshod clone of The Loud House that didn't need to exist, but I have to admit its theme song is catchy. It's a bouncy little earworm.

When I was watching TLH, I liked Lola & Lana, plus Luan and Lisa. Ironically I started losing interest around the time they did the Casagrandes backdoor pilot, "Relative Chaos".

As for TC, I don't know any of the characters' names (I could look them up, but I haven't been inclined to do so; again, just no interest). Maybe Primos will pull me in.

Just skimmed through the Wikipedia entry on the show so I'll at least know character names; Wiki mentioned some characters named Chang, but no Chang sisters. Of course anyone and their uncle Gus can edit Wiki.

The sisters are Sid and Adelaide.
First Boomerang ups their game, then MeTV Toons becomes reality, but I don't get either channel. Meanwhile, Cartoon Network and Max continue to starve under the stairs. At least Conan O'Brien Must Go is good.

Yup. It's funny how life works.:p

But seriously. I just hope CN and Max can recover from all this madness.

If MeTV Toons came to YouTube TV and/or Max and if WBD suddenly began giving a crap about CN again, I'll know I found a 17-leaf clover.

MAW Superman and Unicorn WE seem to have done well, and Invincible Fight Girl and Iyanu: Child of Wonder sound interesting. It's good to see CN embracing action again, but I hope they haven't forgotten comedy.
Why is it automatically assumed that if a person were to suddenly gain super powers they'll put on tights and either immediately decide to save the world or conquer/destroy it?

How appropriate that you would write this on National Superhero Day (I don't who decides these just for fun "holidays").

It's like putting on lab coat or wearing a clown nose. Some responsibilities come with the office outfit.

Hmm. If I suddenly had teleportation, I'd probably use it to avoid driving and being stuck in traffic rather than become a super.
I've said this before, but the Ignore button is a life saver.
Aside from Multiversus updates, we haven't gotten any real news about Warner Bros Discovery lately, and that makes me uncomfortable, like something bad is looming on the horizon. Shame that it's come to that.

Between bad news or no news at all, I don't know which one is worse...
X-Men was never meant to be bright and sunny (it's an allegory for prejudice, after all), but it looks like '97 is starting to veer into despair porn territory now, which I'm not digging. Can the mutants get a happy ending, just once?

It's gonna be a long one I think. I assume negative based on this week's ending, but if they pull off a 1 in a hundred miracle and immediately buy back Gambit, Magento, and Leech's deaths, I'll probably grumble along for another week. But based on the comments from the former showrunner that is not happening. Ergo, I am addressing all of my problems in this specific upcoming episode.

I think it really just depends on how they handle the fallout and eventual resolution of the arc. I don't think it's going to be the constant genocide porn the comics lean into.
Pretty limp April Fool's Day this year, I've got to say. Most of it was just folks typing stuff they'd like to see happen. Just reminded me of the sorry state of the industry right now, so I didn't participate.
"I feel sorry for kids today since they didn't grow up with the SatAM experience."

Counterpoint: Today's kids have the internet, streaming services and channels that run kid-friendly content all day. They're fine.
It's been said before, but I'll be glad when we can go back to just talking about the shows themselves rather than the shenanigans going on behind the scenes.
Why do so many adults with no kids get so hopping mad about the existence of preschool shows and blocks? "Grr! I hate Cartoonito and Mickey Mouse Fun House! How dare they make preschool shows!" I don't get it.

This has been around for decades, even baby boomers and Gen X said how bad was Nick Jr in 1990s after they remembered Pinwheel in 1980s. That was before internet became mainstream.

Preschool shows provide educational contents to toddlers and young children that help with language skills, fine motor skills and other developments, also help with creativity.

In cases using established characters such as LT, I also wonder if those people feel that putting them in preschool shows is insulting to those characters as they think it's "dumbing down" the characters for younger viewers.

Also, those people just want things done specifically their way. Yes, like infants even though they never need to waste their time and thoughts on preschool shows.

I'm guessing since Charlie Adler is more of a voice director now, he's rarely done voice acting in shows where he's not the voice director. Like, shows like The Rocketeer and Spiderman 2017 are among the few recent projects where he's done voice acting without also being the voice director.
I am so happy about the Toonami Rewind block. I am so glad it finally happened.
Well, this is how the animated "Married with Children" looks like.
It's interesting how Disney Junior is rebranding, first with the logo, and now educational curriculum being developed under Disney Junior Education And Inclusion rather than the Disney Junior Educational Resource Group.
