Yeah, I know that I haven't been around in a dog's age, but I discovered that this episode unlocked a HUGE secret that Futurama's creators placed previously but kept hidden for four years, and I had to tell someone.
By the way, this goes without saying, but....
SPOILER ALERT...
What the?! I leave for a few months, and this happens?
This really is a shock. She was maligned by many of the fans, but she still contributed a great many more good ideas and concepts than duds. She will be missed.
There's actually a line uttered by an ersatz Joker in Joker's Millions that references World's Finest. Fake Joker says hello to Bruce, Bruce reminds him that the last time Bruce saw (the real) Joker, he pushed him off a building. Which is exactly what Joker did in World's Finest.
So there...
In response to a couple of (now deleted) posts here, might I suggest that any modding action be left to the mods. Suggestions on bannings or thread closings aren't kosher.
God bless Ad-Aware. If you surf the net at all, then you've inadvertaintly downloaded tons of spyware. I heartily reccomend everyone get it and do a sweep every week or two.
Do M&M's really need a new color? I like the scheme they've got going right now... strong primary colors. Throwing a pastel in there would wreck it, I think. Not to complain about pink or purple and such... I enjoy the holiday colored M&Ms they bring out for Easter. But I'm happy with the...
I haven't had a problem with my GC either... if I had to guess, it would be that the disk pooped out.
Anyhow, I'd like to say that people should never, ever buy third-party memory cards... they're reverse engineered and, therefore, completely buggy. Pretty much all the pro game sites will...
You nailed it, that's exactly what's going on. Dini submitted the scripts a while back, and he's waiting on WB to greenlight them. Will they be greenlit? Who knows, we can only hope.
Very true, June Bugs is a proud Cartoon Network tradition. Yes, it sucks that the various shows you like will be gone for one week, but keep it in perspective... it's just for one week. The superheroes will be back in action soon, none the worse for wear.
Anyway, time to stop this before...
The way the current conversation is going is fine, but next time, be sure and pick the topic yourself. C'mon, show some backbone! Be lord over your thread! :p
But honestly, be sure and pick a certain current event you want to talk about, rather than asking for solicitations.
Oh yeah. Zelda comes the closest to being a playable cartoon than anything before it! If you can download the E3 footage of the E3 boss battle, do it! Drooooool....
And Metroid looks amazing. In one video I saw, playing through the first-person visor view, there was a big, flashy...
It sure sounds like something they'd snap up.
Then again... why not just watch some actual skateboarding? Animating it just takes away the sense of skill involved in doing the tricks.
What is the WWE's slogan nowadays? "We're not even pretending it's real?"
Anyway, baseball strike, what else is new. The players and the owners are both too darn greedy.
Even cutting edge, high-tech machines are capable of producing bad animation. Computer geeks have a term for it: garbage in, garbage out. Essentially, if the person controlling the multi-zillion dollar rendering machine (or whatever) is incompetent, the results are going to be incompetent...
This has actually been going on for quite some time, and I imagine that it won't be decided/settled for years.
I doubt Disney will lose the rights for Pooh, that's their number one reliable cash cow. They'll probably pay a big settlement or cut the plantiffs in for a bit of the profits, first.
I truly enjoyed Princess Mononoke. I could go on and on about it, but I was impressed at the ambiguity of it all... there was no wholly "good" side, or wholly "evil" side. That's probably why the critics, who have come to expect simplistic or kiddified animation, went ape over it.
The...
Well, Dini did submit some scripts to WB a while back, but we never heard if they got greenlit. Rumor has it that the execs are looking at the performance of the DVD release of SubZero before they commit to any more D2Vs.
Tim makes a good point... Two-Face should have been a dark counterpoint to Carrey's Riddler.
And comparing the two, I'd say Two-Face was farther out of character. Riddler's always been flamboyant, so Carrey's take on it was fine. Then again, I enjoy his flicks more often than not. (well...
Just for clarification, "tell a little about yourself" posts of all types don't quite work. They generally devolve into random, topicless meanderings that are a pain in the butt to moderate. I know this is our "off topic" forum (in that the topic we're deviating from is animation), but...
Used games are completely fine and pose no danger to your system. Just make sure the disk doesn't have too many scratches, then congratulate youself on the dough you've saved. I've bought too many used games to count, and I've never had any problems.
Don't take it personally when no one replies to threads... it happens to everyone! And besides, you only gave people three hours to reply... sometimes, it takes a lot longer than that. Patientce, my son.
While I'm at it, I'd like to remind posters to please refrain from posting replies to...
Try picking up the PC games Thief and Thief 2. They're all about sneaking around and stealing stuff, and it's done extremely well. Sure, it's in a fantasy/steampunk setting, but there's a very satisfying bank robbery in Thief 2. You can find both games for less than $10, go get 'em!
Really? I loved that strip as a kid, I'll have to check it out.
And I loved the game... I had it when it first came out waaaaaaaaay back for the Commodore 64.
Here we go again.
This topic has been well-beaten into the ground, but the producers originally meant it to be widescreen, but WB made them do it full-screen. So, they storyboarded it so that the biggest impact will come in widescreen, but can be shown full-screen as well. All you're...
Add my vote to the "I'm unbearably happy that plagaristic piece of poo is gone for good" pile. That show needed to stop thinking that being shocking was inherently funny and learn how to do over-the-top things in humorous ways, like South Park.
