Andrea Romano is a legendary casting director who has worked on some of the most popular animated films and TV shows of all time, including Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. In a 2019 interview, she shared her thoughts on how to use celebrity voice casting properly and respectfully:
  • Consider the character first. When casting a celebrity, it's important to make sure that their voice is a good fit for the character. Don't just cast a celebrity because they're big and famous.
  • Give celebrities the same direction as any other actor. Celebrities are actors too, so it's important to treat them with the same respect and give them the same direction as any other actor. Don't assume that they know what they're doing just because they're famous.
  • Don't be afraid to say no. If you don't think a celebrity is the right fit for the role, don't be afraid to say no. It's important to stand up for your creative vision and cast the best possible actor for the role.
Here are some additional tips for using celebrity voice casting properly and respectfully:
  • Be transparent with the celebrity. Let them know what the role entails, how much time they'll need to commit to it, and what the pay is.
  • Be respectful of their time. Celebrities are often very busy, so be mindful of their time and schedule recording sessions accordingly.
  • Be patient and understanding. Celebrities may not have as much experience with voice acting as professional voice actors, so be patient and understanding with them.
  • Give them credit for their work. Once the project is released, be sure to credit the celebrities for their voice acting work.
When used properly and respectfully, celebrity voice casting can be a great way to add star power and excitement to a project. However, it's important to always remember that the character comes first. If you're not sure whether or not to cast a celebrity for a particular role, it's always better to err on the side of caution and cast a professional voice actor.
Andrea Romano is a strong advocate for professional voice actors. She has said that she believes that voice actors are "some of the most talented and hardworking people in the business," and that they deserve to be respected and recognized for their work.

Personally, I’d say that all of that applies to voice casting, period, let alone “celebrity” voice casting. After all, even some professional voice actors may not have as much experience as others. Heck, some people better known for their voice acting may have also done some live action stuff, and they might be busy with other things as well.

In short, voice actors need to be treated right, period, whether they’re celebrities or not.

My reaction that TeenNick is airing The Tiny Chef Show:
Hey, Multiversus: Enough of the freaking villains already. Give us Daffy Duck!
Of all of Cartoon Network's detractors, no one hates Cartoon Network more than Warner Bros Discovery.
Does anyone else think that Doug Walker has just been phoning it in with the Nostalgia Critic episodes lately? Maybe he doesn't need to be doing a new episode of NC every week anymore. I think that Doug should cut NC down to just 1 episode per month or something similar.
Action! wrote on Dr.Pepper's profile.
Congrats on being promoted!
