If only Yo swam to shore. Seemed like Ibara won and stoned the whole island but... somehow Senku dodged it, lmao.

Wow, that was one of the best final battles of the show. Perfect split-second plan from Chrome to have them line up and gauge the petrification so Senku can do a set of calculations only he could do on the fly - because a perfect callback to the beginning of the series with Senku counting for 3700 years - but it all hinged on one perfect throw. Then a really entertaining battle of wits between Ibara and Senku. The overly cautious Ibara who plans ahead with hidden armor, eyeballing distance, having his headgear as a failsafe, still staying fit, but ultimately falls for the mobile lab rig, swats the two bottles as Senku planned to revive Ryusui in secret, following Senku to that specific cliff, the tug of war, Ryusui planting his earpiece on the Medusa. Perfect way to end with a callback, then declaration that he isn't alone anymore.

3 episodes left. Enough for a wrap up of restoring everyone, establishing the new ruler, and setting off for the next adventure.

Intriguing. This Why-Man was on the Moon this whole time. Dropped medusa devices a couple hundred years ago - to what - maintain the human populations? And made synthetic Senku voice to try and trigger the Medusa to petrify the whole planet. Hmm, could it be astronauts survived on a moon base and the big bad are their descendants? No, they'd run out of resources in way less that 3700 years. If the big bad is just a satellite, computer program on a loop... or AI....which would be oddly relevant. I can kind of start to see if Why-Man is an AI then at some point it decided humans were hurting the planet and petrified them in order to give the planet the time to heal? But how did it create technology that could petrify people? And given Senku gets to the Moon and confronts the AI or whomever, can he convince he/she/they/it to stop. Lot of food for thought.

Peak Ginro as soon as he's revived. :D

Didn't expect them to intro a new character so soon. Seems to have a samurai quality to him. Should be an interesting add. And I guess Kirisame is joining them, too. She seems to have accepted Soyuz as the heir as she was bowing to him during the boat party. Guess next episode will resolve what they going to do about the villagers on the island and who will lead them. 50:50 it will be Soyuz or they revive his father.

Ho ho ho, Senku wants to build a space shuttle next. That's gonna require a lot of materials...

That fight in episode 19 was super convoluted, to the point of frustration it was like watching an awful episode of Steven Moffat Dr Who.

Episode 21 "Treasure Island" - 12/14/23
To the moon! That's the plan, at least. Senku and the Kingdom of Science need to devise a means with which to go to the moon and deal with Why-Man. The first step is allying with the people of Treasure Island and enlisting their help with some new crafts.

Makes sense Soyuz wanted to stay on Treasure Island and revive everyone petrified. Lose 1, gain 2. Quite interesting choice for Kirisame to join up on Soyuz's request.

Nice coda with Senku thinking about his dad and launching the fireworks for the islanders. Not surprised Senku was like that as a kid, heh.

Did bring up a good point, they still don't know what Why-Man is and don't really know what kind of a fight is in store when they head to the Moon.

That's right. They have a petrification device so now they can heal and revive Tsukasa.

Hmm, I suppose they're going to have to search for a couple aerospace engineers to revive as well as getting more materials. But who knows. If these villages were what sprang up in Japan the past 3700 years, kinda curious if similar or slightly more advanced ones cropped up in other parts of the world like Europe or the USA. Probably more enemies so to be turned frenemies are on the horizon.

Episode 22 "Beyond The New World" - 12/21/23
With the petrification device in the Kingdom's hands, it's time to revive Tsukasa. But there's just one problem: the device is out of batteries.

12/21/23: Ha! Even Tsukasa was flummoxed with the prospect of invading the Moon. Should be fun to see how he mixes with the Perseus crew.

Using the Medusa for a long distance like the whole island drained most of its power. Interesting. What could its power be. Certainly not solar energy.

The artisans do not disappoint...

Heading to North America first for corn, hmm. I hope they can adapt the rest of the manga in one season without cutting out too much. I was under the impression there was 4-5 arcs left in the manga before the end. Thinking the people will just roll over for them... that's pretty naive. They aren't even considering the possibility there are villages of modern man or even others who revived like Senku and co. did.

Season 4 in October 2024...

2/4/24: Surprisingly, Dr. Stone is getting a 27th volume on April 4. Recently there was a a special three-chapter spinoff manga titled Dr. Stone: 4D Science which delves with Senku trying to build a time machine after the events of the series but not sure if that's enough to fill a volume. Hmm. And of course will it be adapted into the anime? Hmm.

From the front page of AnimeSuperhero.com:

"Get Excited: Dr. Stone New Manga Volume And New Season Coming This Year!"

Dr.-Stone-new-season.webp

"Get exited! There’s a ten billion percent chance of new Dr. Stone content coming out this year. Despite everybody believing the manga was officially over, it has just now been announced that we will be having a twenty-seventh volume according to the official Shonen Jump website. There is speculation that the manga volume will compile the spinoff manga Dr. Stone: 4D Science, which involved protagonist Senku attempting to invent a time machine with the power of science. There has been no official confirmation that this spinoff is indeed what will comprise volume twenty-seven, so we get another surprise entirely. The official release date for this new volume of the manga will be April 4th.

The revelation of a new manga volume comes slightly a month after the reveal of a new season, which will be the climactic final season. The final season entitled, Science Future is due to air sometime this year, although there has yet to be a firm release date. It is not yet officially known if the contents of volume twenty-seven will make it into the anime adaptation, but the content of that volume will most likely be published well in advance of season four airing."
